Discipleship Resources
At 22nd Street Baptist Church, we desire to engage our heads and hearts to grow closer to Jesus Christ and be better equipped to live for Him in our culture. This Resources page is a quick guide for books that can help you grow in your faith, organized under various topics. This can be a resource either for individual growth or for discipleship groups. If you have any questions, please reach out to Pastor Kevin.
Disclaimer: though all resources affirm the essentials of the Christian faith, the listing of a resource is not itself an endorsement of everything written in that resource. Readers may differ with authors on this list on secondary and tertiary theological issues, but these are issues on which we may differ while remaining followers of Jesus Christ. On these things, we have liberty as Christians. See our About page for the list of essential beliefs of our church. Everything in these resources is to be judged by the standard of God’s inspired Scripture, which is our ultimate standard for Christian truth and practice.
This resources list will be updated periodically.
Web Resources
RightNow Media
Our church has an account with RightNow Media, which gives us access to thousands of quality video series on a wide range of topics in Christian discipleship. These resources can be used in a Connect Group, discipleship groups, and in the home by a married couple or family. They can be used for introductory small groups to curious non-Christian friends and family. They can also be used on an individual basis.
You can gain access to these resources by requesting to have an invite sent to you to create an account. Contact Pastor Kevin Watson at kevin@22church.com for more details.
Practicing the Way
"Spiritual formation" is a term used to describe how it is that we, slowly and over time, become more like Jesus - our Rabbi, Savior, and Lord. We have found the Practicing the Way platform to be an excellent tool for growing as disciples of Jesus. This online resource can be used individually or for Connect Groups and discipleship groups.
